Israel Museum Joins Google Art Project

The Israel Museum is among 40 museums (including Canada’s own AGO) selected to offer a virtual tour – a “streetwalk” – throughout its campus and galleries. The Google Art Project features 520 of the most important objects in the Israel Museum’s expansive collections, with high resolution images that allow viewers to examine works in exceptional detail, together with background information on objects and artists. Visitors may also explore the Museum’s campus and permanent galleries virtually, usingGoogle’s Street View technology.

Media coverage in Israel has been extensive and articles have already appeared in over 400 media outlets worldwide.
